Dear Dr.Cox,
I am just one week old to this toolbox! I have downloaded the k-wave toolbox and installed successfully.
My interest is to map the deoxygenated hemoglobin in the brain tissue by photoacoustic imaging. In the beginning, I want to form a 2d mesh (~2x2cm) and to simulate the change in absorption of the deoxyHb with respect to the surrounding tissue. I will be using 780nm wavelength pulsed laser and a single element ultrasound sensor to scan from outer surface of the tissue. So, I request you to please suggest me the procedure to simulate in the k-wave toolbox with step-by-step procedure.
Thank you.

Dear Rao,
Thank you for downloading k-Wave. It can be used to model the acoustic propagation following a photoacoustic generation (or any other generation mechanism, come to that) but it isn't a light transport model. To see how to do the acoustic modelling please see the examples that come with the Toolbox and the manual that is available for download. There are several packages freely available for modelling light transport in tissue, such as MCX.
Good luck with your modelling!
Ben
