Hi,
In our 3D photoacoustic wave propagation simulations (Nx = 111, Ny = 111, Nz = 21), we have two disk-shaped sources (diameters equal to 2 and 4 grids, initial pressure = 2000) in the z=0 plane. The point detectors are located in the same plane forming a ring array. We did 3 simulations: 1. with only one source. 2. with the other source. 3. with two sources together. If we add the signals of the first two experiments together, we should get the signals of the third one (The linearity of the photoacoustic forward process). However, we found that they are not equal. The relative error more than 10%. Can you explain what is the course of such phenomenon?
Thank you!
Best wishes,
