May be someone already tried it before...I want to generate forward field with k-wave (make a scan by placing a scatterer and sensor in one point and move it along the RoI) and then use the Angular Spectrum Approach to predict the pressure field in a parallel plane at arbitrary distance. Is that possible and what would be a good start?
I was considering using FOCUS toolbox cause they have implemented this method, but still havent merged it with k-wave yet.

One place to start would be to set the sensor mask to record the pressure over an entire 2D plane, and then use this as the input to the angular spectrum method. There are a few angular spectrum codes floating about depending on what you need (including FOCUS). For the linear homogeneous case with a single frequency CW source, the equations are very simple and only take a couple of lines of MATLAB code.

Or in more general scope, I have pulse-echo signal for one plane in 3D (or some small volume is also possible) - are there any ways to predict pulse-echo signal from another plane?
It seems hardly possible, but I am new to ultrasound.

Another alternative is to directly solve the Rayleigh integral (for example, see "Foundations of Biomedical Ultrasound" by Cobbold), although that's unlikely to be faster than the angular spectrum method.
