   Hey all,

   I'm currently exploring what capabilities does k-wave has through the manual and through the examples in MATLAB. It seems like k-wave is more focused on ultrasound application. My first question is.. can k-wave be used to analyze sound waves through air medium? Is there a way I can more or less replicate a "loudspeaker" to study its propagation? One of the things that I want to do is to put "loudspeakers" or sound sources in a lined/column array to see how sound propagation reacts.

   If someone could guide me the way, I would highly appreciate it.

   Hi yeraypabon.

   k-Wave is a general wave solver, so can also be used for audio applications with the big caveat that it only models the wave proagation, and nothing about the speaker itself. If you can construct an equivalent source model of your loudspeaker using either monopole (in k-Wave - source.p) or dipole (in k-Wave - source.ux etc) sources, then it should be straightforward to model this in k-Wave.
