   Hi!

   By reading the documentation and running the example example_us_bmode_linear_transducer I noticed that there is a black area on the top of the bmode image.

   Examples of images that describe can be found: Here in the documentation for a phased array and here for a linear array. In the second link the bmode image is cropped.

   
   

   I was wondering why this area exist there and what significance it has.

   Hi Vasiliki,

   This appears because the first part of the received signal is windowed out (see the "Remove Input Signal" part of the code). This is to remove the signal that travels directly from element to element.
