i want to simulate a 2D heterogeneous medium of water and a 3mm bone layer.
the time varying acoustic source is before the bone layer and it's a section of circle ( f-number=.06667) and it's focusing point is 4cm after bone layer.
I'm a beginner and i have difficulty in defining the source and focus location.
could you help me ?

Unless I'm missing something, the f-number you define seems implausible if you are relying only on geometric focusing, as this would imply an aperture diameter of d = 4 cm / 0.0667 = 60 cm. Is this what you had in mind?
If you're new to k-Wave, the best way to get started is to work through the examples included in the toolbox (via the MATLAB help browser), and the k-Wave manual.

I would like to simulate HIFU within a 2D axisymmetric geometry. I want to obtain the focal temperature rise and lesion volume from the simulation. Would that be possible to do in k-wave as it is, or will I need to write a code for the thermal simulation in order to get the temperature rise from the pressure values?
I appreciate any help you can provide.

There isn't a temperature diffusion code included in the current version of k-Wave (V1.1), although we intend to include one with the next release.
