   I am working on the HIFU simulator using focusedBowlONeil as the pressure source and comparing it to MRgHIFU PRFS data. The default vibrational velocity in k-wave is 0.1 m/s. The output axial pressure seems too high. The focal point pressure is proportional to vibrational velocity.

   The transducer is a 256-element pseudo-randomized phased array transducer (Imasonic, Besançon, France) of radius focal length 130mm and diameter aperture 140mm operated at 1.031 MHz. How can I find the vibrational velocity for our HIFU transducer?

   Hi renardChien,

   You will have to do a measurement I suspect! Alternatively, if you know the electrical power, and the efficiency of the transducer, you could estimate the acoustic power. Then from the area of the element, you could estimate the intensity, and thereby calculate the velocity using plane wave relationships.
