   Hi Ben,

   I want to generate photoacoustic breast model with using k-wave toolbox. I have an idea but I am not sure that it is appropriate or not. An external image can be added to yield sensor data, so If I add breast image as initial source that is taken from different image modality such as MRI or CT and than I define medium properties, sensor mask and finally I generate sensor data, Can I say that it is photoacoustic breast data? Maybe it is an odd question but when I examine breast model data, I think those are not resemble breast.

   Could you give me some advice how to generate appropriate breast data?

   Hi Leyla,

   In general, it is certainly possible to define the photoacoustic source term based on information from another imaging modality. I'm not sure I quite follow your question, but keep in mind that if you only run the forward problem, the generated sensor_data will not resemble the photoacoustic source. The sensor_data contains the time varying boundary measurements that can then later be used to reconstruct a photoacoustic image.

   If you're interested in creating a photoacoustic breast phantom, this paper may also be of interest.
