I'm attempting to model a new ultrasound transducer design by modeling the 'pins' that comprise it as point sources. In modeling just one pin as a point source (have just one grid point in 3D space have a value of 1) in kspaceFirstOrder3D, the resulting output at the pin location is not even close to the source function. When all the pins are together, a disk is effectively produced, however we want to model the pins individually to be able to compare to other arrangements consisting of different patterns and number of pins. There appears to be some promise to achieving this under kWaveArray->addCustomElement, however, the comment there seems to indicate that a lone point or a series of lone points is not possible to model in k-Wave. Is this true?
