Hi,
I am trying to simulate photo acoustic signal in 3D space using kspaceFirstOrderAS. The sensor elements are defined as a line in z=0(in a 2D computational grid), representing a planer detector in 3D. The problem is that the amplitude of the signal on all sensor elements is almost the same while I expect to get a stronger signal for the elements which are far from the origin as they represent a circle with a greater radius. Do I need to add a weight factor myself?

Hi Marzieh,
Do you mean a line in the axial direction (x) or radial direction (y)? The picture to keep in mind is the one shown in Simulations In An Axisymmetric Coordinate System Example. Considering wave propagation in this geometry, you shouldn't need to add any additional weight factors yourself.

Hi Brad,
Thanks for your reply. I mean a line detector in the Y direction. It happens that we do have a stronger signal while integrating signals over the outer circle of the planer detector in the 3D cartesian model. Supposing that the farthest sensor element in the axisymmetric model represents the same circle I expect the same thing but it doesn't happen.
