Hi,
I would like to simulate US recording of a heterogeneous medium.
I use a transducer object as a source.
But because I would like to include directivity of transducer elements at reception (NOT like the directivity setting of the k-wave toolbox), I use a different sensor defined using a mask, which records ux (ux is needed to apply the directivity).
The raw-data I obtain by recording ux is however very strange and the pressure calculated by P = -ux*c0*rho0
is not close to the pressure recorded.
With one difference in acoustic impedance (one interface) for example, pressure has a zero mean inside the homogeneous medium (which is correct) and one echo (the interface), the pressure calculated using the velocity however has a non-zero mean!
What could cause this behaviour? Could it be related to the configuration?
Thanks for your help!
