Hi Bradley Treeby,
I was wondering if k-wave also simulates reflection from the source. For example, if i am simulating a slice of a medium in water (3D simulation), the wave that is reflected from the water-medium interface, is it also reflected back by the source or is only forward propagation modelled?
Thank you!

Hi Anastasiia,
Wave propagation is modelled in all directions (not just forwarded propagation). However, if you use a normal additive source, then the source pressure is added to the existing field. This means there will be no reflection from the source surface.

Hi Bradley, what is a normal additive source? is source.p of a circular transducer in 2D normal additive?

Additive sources just mean that the pressure at the point source will be added to the pressure of waves that overlap at the position of the point source. This causes the point source to not reflect waves. Additive sources are the default source type for the source structure but you can change it by setting source.p_mode to 'dirichlet', which just means that the point source will now act as a reflector.
