   Hi,
   I am trying to model the ultrasonic wave propagation inside a slab of skull micro-CT. However, it seems that the results are either unstable (with 150 points per wavelength) or not accurate; especially for the shear wave propagation. I tested a pure bone block and the results are pretty reasonable however when the bone block is replaced by the skull micro-CT it does not look accurate. I was wondering if the elastic version of k-wave is suitable for modeling a highly heterogeneous media when there is a significant difference between the acoustical properties of tissue and scatterers (bone and water in this case).

   Hi omidyj,

   What is that doesn't look right? If you try the same simulation with the fluid code does it look as you expect?

   You could try comparing with SimSonic if you want to double check.
