I am quite new to acoustics and looking for tool for imaging. I am wondering if k-wave can be used to image an object for which source and receiver data are available.

Hi punitkapadia
Whether or not k-Wave is the right tool for you depends a lot on exactly what you're trying to achieve. For example, the sort of imaging you are interested in, what source and receiver data you have and what you wish to do with it, and what acoustic phenomena you are trying to simulate.
You can get a good understanding of k-Wave by looking through the examples and documentation included with the toolbox.

Hello Brad,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I am going through all the examples in toolbox. I am looking for tools like the one we use during ultrasound test in which source and receiver are used to image baby. Or tools which are used in biological imaging. Is "Simulating B-mode Ultrasound Images Example" an example for this?

Hi punitkapadia,
This is an example of using k-Wave to simulate a B-mode ultrasound image using a model of a diagnostic ultrasound probe and a scattering phantom. I hope you manage to find what you're after!

Hi all,
i like this to be part of this forum.
i need matlab code for A scan, B scan and C scan for identification of defects in materials.
can someone please help.Posted 12 years ago # -
Hi ravigopal,
There are several examples in the Toolbox that might be relevant under Diagnostic Ultrasound Simulation. You'll have to be more specific if you want more help, I'm afraid.
