Hi everyone:
I believe it's a fundamental question. As known in the k-wave manual, if PML is set outside the grid, the grid size and medium inputs will be automatically enlarged before the simulation begins. So is there a possibility that the grid size is changed from small prime numbers to big ones(like from 128 to 148),causing a slower speed of calculation ?

Will PMLOutside slow the speed of calculation in certain circumstance?

Putting the PML outside will increase the grid size, so you're correct you need to consider the size of the prime factors on the expanded grid. You can set
'PMLSize'
to'auto'
if you want k-Wave to choose a suitable PML size for you.Posted 1 year ago #
